VIBRATION THERAPY

The Vibrogym’s Advanced Vibration Technology is the most innovative health and fitness tool in the industry today. Backed by over 40 years of scientific research, vibration training enables users to achieve a higher level of fitness and ultimately enhance ones quality of life. Far better results are achieved than with conventional training methods in just 10 minutes, 3 times a week. This mechanical stimulus produces a stretch reflex eliciting involuntary muscle contractions.

The Vibrogym has been used by top athletes and is now widely accepted all over the world within medical, rehabilitation, and health and fitness. The Vibrogym produces a vibration through which energy is transferred to the body. This mechanical stimulus produces a stretch reflex which, depending on the frequency, results in rapid and intense muscle contractions 30-50 times per second.

Vibration training offers a host of benefits such as considerably improving muscle strength, flexibility, range of motion, bone density and stimulating blood circulation. Additionally, studies have proven Vibrogym's ability to reduce muscle pain and soreness, and expedite the recovery of damaged muscles and tendons. Just as the leg kicks forward involuntarily when the doctor strikes the lower knee to test reflexes, the body's muscles engage in an involuntary reflexive contraction in response to vibration's disruption in stability. The body's reaction to this mechanical stimulus is all natural and occurs involuntarily at the neural level.

MEDX LUMBAR EXTENSION MACHINE

The MedX Lumbar Extension Machine has been clinically proven to be extremely effective in the treatment of chronic back pain. Until MedX developed their patented restraint systems, there was never an effective way to isolate and strengthen the muscles of the spine.

Many companies have "Low Back" exercise machines that claim to strengthen the back. Clinical research has proven that these machines actually strengthen the hamstrings and gluteus muscles. A controlled study done by the University of Florida showed that people who worked out on two different "Low Back Machines" for 12 weeks actually gained no strength at all in their lumbar extensor muscles, although their hamstring and gluteus muscles did improve significantly.

Rehabilitation providers worldwide have experienced outstanding outcomes using the MedX Lumbar Extension Machine. This is attributed to medical evidence that shows that the majority of patients with chronic spinal pain are significantly "deconditioned". Weakness of the musculature of the spine can lead to many conditions such as herniated discs, facet syndrome, and degenerative joint disease. A strong spine provides a strong foundation that allows for healthy spaces between the vertebrae, which helps prevent spinal compression.

Rehabilitation using the MedX Lumbar Machine is based on objective measurements and comparisons to actual norms, not based on subjective pain ratings. Patient outcomes have been published in peer-reviews medical journals and are available for your reference under Research.

Isometric testing may occur every 3 degrees within the patient’s range of motion. During the test, the software plots a strength curve that allows a comparison of the patient’s strength and range of motion to age and gender matched norms. It also has the ability to detect a lack of reasonable effort by the patient. Various reports can be generated for individual patients and selected patients groups or categories for outcome tracking purposes.

Accuracy and reliability of testing is addressed by the machine’s ability to factor out the torque of both torso mass and stored energy. Torso mass is eliminated via an adjustable counterweight. Stored energy (tissue compression and/or joint elasticity) can be assessed and factored out at each angle tested.

GYROTONIC

GYROTONIC® is an exercise modality that simultaneously provides stretching and strengthening of muscles and tendons while also mobilizing the joints. It has wonderful benefits of mobilizing the spine with movements not experienced with anything else. Corresponding breathing patterns are engaged during the exercises, thereby increasing coordination and aerobic activity.

GYROTONIC® is a great adjunct to therapy to help get stiff joints moving and engaging muscles needed for stability. It’s a form of exercise that every person can benefit from, regardless of their age or state of well-being.
